The top 5 ways to not eat food in France

1.  Don't order "l'eau tableau" at a restaurant to go along with your meal because, as I recently just found out, that apparently that doesn't mean "table water", it actually means "chalkboard water."

2. Don't buy frozen pizza at a grocery store, especially if it's ham and cheese flavoured. Unless you want to eat processed cheese and lard ontop of a crepe-y dough shaped into a pizza.

3. Just don't eat pizza at all. It's not thick and greasy-delicious like the American style and it's not thin and simple like the Italian way. Just go to Italy, it's close anyways.

3. Don't buy bananas at a major grocery store like Carrefour or Casino. They will probably be like $5 Canadian for four of them and will brown and go mushy within two hours. There are so many local produce shops that will gladly sell you perfect bananas for less than 40 cents.

4. Don't forget to buy baguettes and cheese. They're super cheap here and better than the ones back in Canada, by far.

5. Also, don't forget to buy wine to pair with your meals. I know it's not food, but it's delicious, inexpensive and the selection is unparalleled to anywhere else I've ever traveled. World class wine is being bottled about 45 minutes away on average from anywhere you are in France, so why not take advantage and try to taste as many as possible?
